Dall Sheep
$14.00
Dall Sheep, also known as Tinhorn Sheep, are most notable for the males’ massive curled horns. Females, or ewes, also carry horns, but theirs are shorter, more slender and only slightly curved. Rams tend to resemble ewes until the age of three, when continued horn growth makes them easily recognizable. Dall Sheep usually inhabit alpine pastures and mountain slopes. They can often be seen along the Turnagain Arm from the Seward Highway just south of Anchorage.
